ABC Quick Check

A: Air
- Check tire pressure: Use a pump with a gauge to ensure your tires are inflated to the recommended PSI (printed on the sidewall of the tire).
- Inspect tires for damage: Look for cracks, cuts, or embedded objects that might cause flats.

B: Brakes
- Test brake function: Squeeze the brake levers to ensure they engage smoothly and stop the bike effectively.
- Inspect brake pads: Check for wear. Replace them if they are less than 3mm thick or unevenly worn.
- Adjust brake alignment: Ensure the pads hit the rim squarely and do not touch the tire or hang too low.

C: Chain and Crank
- Inspect the chain: Check for rust, dirt, or damage. Wipe it clean and apply chain lubricant if needed.
- Examine the crank arms: Ensure they are secure and free from wobbles or unusual noises.
- Check the pedals: Spin them to ensure they rotate freely without grinding.

Quick: Quick Releases
- Inspect quick-release levers: Ensure they are securely fastened but easy to open for wheel removal.
- If your bike has thru-axles, ensure they are tightened properly.

Check: General Condition
- Inspect frame and wheels: Look for cracks, dents, or bent spokes.
- Test shifting: Run through all gears to ensure smooth transitions.
- Listen for noises: Ride a short distance to identify squeaks, clicks, or grinding.

Additional Tips:
- Keep your bike clean to prevent rust and wear.
- Check bolts and screws periodically for tightness.
- Inspect lights and reflectors for functionality.
